Kids Safety Day 2009!

A very successful Kids Safety Day of 2009 was held September 12th at Burton’s Century Village, a perfect day for children and their parents to be out-of-doors in a lovely setting, with many events to claim their attention and provide important learning experiences. The day was sponsored by University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center & University Hospitals Medical Practices .  Co-chairs from the board of Friends of CASA of Geauga County were Tammy Saccone and Dee Spangenberg.

These photos catch some of the spirit of the day.  Many volunteers contributed their time and supplies to this wonderful annual event  that will continue to provide knowledge to the community regarding safety in their everyday lives.

Welcome to Safety Day!
	CASA for Kids of Geauga County volunteers brought plenty of informational literature to hand out to interested parties, and to explain their work.  Volunteers are always welcome to learn more about this wonderful organization and how it provides training for the volunteer CASA’s.
	Activities ranged from demonstrations by Geauga County’s safety forces to  games and events that brought out the importance of safety practices  to use in everyday life.
	The BUCKET BRIGADE was a popular venue at Kids Safety Day.  Geauga County officials donated their time and good humor in succumbing to the deluges that kids with accurate aim provided! Judge Fury awaits his fate…….   Judge Henry awaits his turn in the “hot seat” as Safety Day participant takes aim.  There were many fun events for the children who attended, and they also learned many important safety facts and  tips as they took part in various activities.  This, however, was strictly for fun!

	From Medivac demos to “Karate Kid” displays, Safety Day was filled with eye-opening experiences for the kids and adults alike.
	This is definitely a day to be repeated each year! Friends of CASA for Kids of Geauga County wants the best information available to be provided to the public to enhance everyone’s safety.
